Would you like to lend a hand to help farmers and regional communities? Do you have a desire to travel this great country and experience the sights and events on offer, while earning some extra money and meeting new friends? If you answered yes, the Harvest Trail is for you!

The National Farmers Federation has identified a skills shortage of up to 20,000 people needed to bring in the harvest. Traditionally, this style of work has been sought by backpackers’ intent on topping up their spending money to extend their stay, however this is changing due to the strengthening Australian dollar.

This paid work is available to people of all ages, so as long as you have a degree of physical fitness, what better way to see Australia, top up your Super, meet some fascinating people from Australia and around the world whilst keeping healthy and fit along the way?

And there has never been a better time to start. With recent rains around the country, farmers are experiencing bumper crops, but are having difficulty meeting the demand of the seasonal harvest.

Harvest Trail TV was launched to showcase how mature age Australians and other job seekers can lend a hand. What a fabulous way to make a difference to Australian communities and farmers whilst seeing everything Australia has to offer.. and getting paid to do it!

There are all different types of jobs on offer and you can work as little or as often as you like; whether just 1 day, 4 months, all day or just a few hours. It all makes a difference. The variety of roles means there is something for everyone, no matter your age, level of fitness, ability or physical strength. Browse our videos to get an idea of the kind of work available, check out what’s in season this month and get planning.
